Three More Rounds: UFC 199

Three More Rounds: Bryce's post fight thoughts. 1. Bruce Leeroy!

Alex "Bruce Leeroy" Caceres fought like a man possessed last night, defeating Cole Miller via unanimous decision. After almost finishing Miller multiple times, Caceres sent a statement to the featherweight division. I was most impressed with how active he was throughout the entire bout, seeming to never tire. The Blackzilians product has much yet to prove, but this fight showed that he has the tools to succeed in the division.  2. Ghost in the Octagon: the Dominick Cruz Story

The ever elusive "Dominator" showed again why he reigns supreme at 135. Now on a 13 fight win streak, Cruz rolled over the aging "California Kid." Cruz outclassed Faber on the feet, and he even landed a few takedowns, showing he is no one trick pony. He was patient and showed the division that no one has figured out his unorthodox striking, landing 99 strikes versus Faber's 49. Now it seems as though the "Dominator" will get Cody "No Love" Garbrandt next, following his impressive knockout of Thomas Almeida. If anyone can figure out Cruz's strange fighting style, the Team Alpha Male product may be able to. 3. The "Count" Gains Gold

Shocking the MMA world, Michael Bisping knocked out Luke Rockhold with a pair of left hooks in the first round of the main event. "Left Hook Larry" took advantage of his first title shot after over 10 years in the UFC. Taking the fight on only 17 days notice, nearly nobody thought Bisping could defeat Rockhold, a man who dismantled Chris Weidman, the man who broke Anderson Silva. Rockhold himself didn't seem to give Bisping a chance, as he seemed to believe he had the fight in the bag as the two entered the octagon last night. Even with his own son against him, the "Count" took advantage. With his win, the middleweight division is wide open, with the leading contenders being Weidman and Jacare. Whomever Bisping gets next, it will be no easy task, as the division is as strong as it has ever been.
