It is Spooky Szn, people, and with that comes Trick or Treat. The UFC has responded with treating fans by spoiling us with putting on bigger PPV shows to wrap up another great year of MMA.
To kick off the end of the year, UFC 230, in MSG, is looking like it will be a great card. With great Middleweight bouts, like Weidman-Souza, Adesanya-Brunson, and Branch-Cannonier (BANGER) the card holds major implications for the division. Then, you throw in a fun main event like DC-Lewis and an entertaining prelim main event with Jason Knight, and you have a good night of fights.
Moving into December, UFC 231, in Canada, has some BANGERS. For one, it is main evented by Max Holloway and Brian Ortega. These guys are monsters and, to me, is the most interesting fight I see going on in these cards. Then, you have Valentina Shevchenko against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Two of Women’s MMA best strikers is sure to bring some violence in the Octagon.
To cap off the year, UFC 232 is shaping up to be a great send of to 2018. Back in the MMA Mecca of Las Vegas, Jon Jones is back against Alexander Gustafson in a long-awaited rematch for the undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship (stupid but okay). Then, you have another FANTASTIC women’s fight with Cyborg and Amanda Nunes squaring off for the 145 belt. You also throw in Cat Zingano and Megan Anderson for the likely #1 contender and also as fill in fighters, Condit-Chiesa in Chiesa’s 170 debut, Tom Duquesnoy, and the majestic Ilir Latifi, what more could you want? Best part? It isn’t even full yet, as there are only 8 fights announced at the time of this publishing.
No matter how you slice it, I’d you like MMA, the holidays is as much about the sport we love than it is about those we love. Thank you, UFC. Plus, we’re going to cover all of it! With fight previews, picks, our weekly podcast, we are going to give ample coverage to all of these amazing fights, so be sure to keep checking in!
