Is DC in Jon Jones' Head?

After a tweet that made waves around the MMA world, I’m starting to think a part of Jon Jones’ head is owned by Daniel Cormier.
Today, I stumbled upon this tweet:
With that tweet, it screams insecurity. Jon Jones, a guy who DEFINITIVELY beat Cormier once (I maintain the second was a No Contest, much to the dismay of my Untitled MMA cohort Buju), and he is about to get Cormier stripped of his 205 belt so he can fight Alexander Gustafsson for the real thing, not an interim. It doesn’t make sense to me why a guy who has clearly won a fight against this man would take such lengths to fight him again. Maybe because DC was chosen as ESPN’s Fighter of the Year? Hard to be Fighter of the Year when you don’t fight, Jon.
Whatever his reasoning behind it is, a fight at 205 is probably not going to happen. DC has gone off the deep end into thicc Heavyweight mode, making him best suited for any challengers north of 205 lbs. If a trilogy fight happens, I expect Jones to come up to heavyweight, but, in my opinion, he has much more to lose than gain from that fight. If he loses, his GOAT race is finished, while propelling DC into those talks much more seriously. If he wins, I guess he’s a Champ-Champ? But he won’t be the first for those weight classes because DC did it first. I just don’t get it. Is it worth donating $100k (I am not saying charity donation is bad; it may not be the best way to talk a guy into fighting you in a cage) to go up a weight class and potentially damage the one thing that is left to truly achieve, that being known as the best MMA fighter ever? He is probably the best talent already, but he needs to string together a good, dominant rest of a career to be talked about as the best in the sport. To me, I just think Jon Jones needs this more than DC, who has made peace with the fact that he doesn’t need another JBJ fight. We see what happen.
