Although the main event has changed slightly, UFC 223's Co-Main has remained rock-solid this entire time and pits former champion Joanna Jedrzejcyzk against the woman who took her belt, Rose Namajunas. Strap yourselves in because you're going for a ride.

This Saturday will be the first time Joanna was the challenger since March 14, 2015. She's been that good. The only reason she was the challenger then was because the champion was crowned on TUF and her English was not good enough for the reality show. She is a 5-time Muay Thai World Champion, Kickboxing World Champion, and she was, of course, the first Polish UFC Champion. A lot of accolades for a fighter who turned 30 this past fall. She has the stand-up to beat anyone in the world. She has shown that. What she has yet to show, coming off her first loss in MMA, how she can bounce back. She is an incredible fighter, but former champions are only 1-4 in immediate rematches in UFC history, so history is not in her favor. However, if anyone can prove the odds wrong, it is Joanna Champion.

Rose Namajunas has just as much to prove as Joanna does when that cage closes Saturday night. She is looking to prove that it wasn't a fluke, it wasn't Joanna's weight cut, that she is the best 115 pounder on the planet. It isn't going to be easy, but she has done it once. She fears no woman. She was in the inaugural Women's Strawweight title fight back in 2014, and worked her way up and through the division to get where she is now. She only lost to Karolina Kowalkiewicz along the way, and racked up four submissions along the way, including the submission by punches that crowned her champion. She is looking to make former champions 1-5 this Saturday, and she has no doubt in her mind she can do it.
